Over SV Kampong Tennis

SV Kampong Tennis wants to offer its members a fantastic place where they can enjoy tennis and socialize. As of December 1, 2025, the club has 860 members, including 165 junior members and 125 members with an off-peak membership, allowing them to play during the day until 5:00 PM and all day on weekends. We have six LED-lit, artificial grass courts that are generally available year-round, as well as a practice wall.

At the tennis park, we now also have a Tennis Pavilion and a beautifully furnished terrace. We maintain the courts and the park ourselves. The bar in the Tennis Pavilion is also run independently by a member team, including a team leader and volunteers who receive a volunteer allowance. Therefore, there is no mandatory bar duty for members. If the bar is closed, members can visit the large Kampong Clubhouse, which is open every day.

There are plenty of opportunities for both youth and seniors to play tennis, even if you don't have a partner (yet). Courts can be reserved for free play, and approximately half of the members, including almost all youth members, take tennis lessons. Tennis training at SV Kampong Tennis is provided by five independent coaches, coordinated by head coach Ron van der Kroon. The coaches teach at all levels, and as long as there is room, everyone is eligible.

Furthermore, both internal and external activities are organized throughout the year that offer you the opportunity to play tennis:

Internal
- Day tournaments: The Activities Committee organizes tennis-related activities for senior members several times a year. These include tournaments like the Oktoberfest tournament and the Oliebollen tournament, or a free Summer Evening Toss where you can participate. Our coaches also organize day tournaments for youth members several times a year.
- Club Championships: This is our annual event for and by members, where everyone competes for the honorable title of "Club Champion." The Club Championships for seniors have been organized by SV Kampong Tennis since 1980.
- Internal Competition: A ladder competition is held throughout the year in various periods via the KNLTB Match app. In addition to this internal competition via the KNLTB Match app, there is also an internal competition organized by email by the Kampong ITC.
- Rackettrekken: Every Monday evening from 7:00 PM and every Saturday morning from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, there is a 'rackettrekken'. Every half hour, rackets are shuffled and new pairs are formed to play against each other. Everyone of all levels is welcome, and this is an excellent way to quickly get to know people.

External
- KNLTB Competition: SV Kampong Tennis participates in the competitions organized by the KNLTB in the spring and autumn. You'll play in a Kampong team of at least four players in an external competition against teams from other tennis clubs in the region. There are competitions for all levels and for all ages.
- Open tournaments: As a member of SV Kampong Tennis, you are automatically a member of the Royal Dutch Tennis Association (KNTLB), which means you can also participate in the various open tournaments organized. We organize the Fenneke Schutte Open Weekend Tournament ourselves every year, but many of our members also participate in tournaments organized by other clubs in our region and often cheer each other on.

Membership in any club comes with rights and obligations. In addition to standard rights and obligations, such as the right to have your voice heard at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the obligation to pay membership fees, every member is also obligated to comply with our safety policy and adhere to the KNLTB's General Code of Conduct for "Fair Play." SV Kampong Tennis members are not required to work behind the bar, but—as with any club—volunteers are needed to organize everything. This can be done in one of our committees that are often looking for people and for the youth, parents are expected to help out when their children play competitively, for example by driving to away games.
